Senior Accountant
Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a well-established organization offering excellent benefits and a clear path for professional growth. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of the books of accounts and projects, including overall management of the General Ledger. This position performs and/or oversees daily routine accounting operations and participates in year-end closing and annual budget procedures under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
Performs and/or oversees accounts receivable functions, including:
Recording receipts
Issuance of monthly statements
Collection efforts
Monthly reporting
Other accounts receivable related tasks
Performs and/or oversees daily accounting processing, including:
Accounts payable/disbursement function
Bank deposits and recording
Payroll recording
Other daily accounting functions
Performs and/or oversees reconciliation and analysis of bank and general ledger accounts and other monthly and quarterly tasks.
Participates in year-end closing and annual budget preparation, including:
Preparation of various accounting schedules for annual audit
Preparation of schedules and templates for annual budget
Other tasks related to year-end closing and budget processing
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting with a minimum of 20 accounting-related credits
Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in an accounting or finance capacity is essential
Interfund (intercompany) experience is a plus
Mercer County residency preferred
Requirements
Knowledge of the methods used in operation and maintenance of the General Ledger
Knowledge of the methods used to prepare accounting and other financial reports
Computer literacy in spreadsheets and financial reporting systems
Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to establish and maintain records and files
Ability to meet deadlines
Capability of working with little to no supervision
Particular attention to internal controls, accuracy, and detail
Strong communication and organizational skills
Reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness
